Halfway Mt. Kamiura is a well called the Manai Well. It is said that Emperor Jimmu drew water from that well to offer to the heavenly gods.
Beside it stands a stone monument on which is inscribed a poem composed by Empress Dowager Eisho.

As with the Manai Well, there are legends involving Emperor Jimmu and Mt. Kamiura nearby. Its summit forms a lookout from which the beauty of the many islands in the Seto Inland Sea can be enjoyed.

Access

From the Sumiyoshi Boarding Dock at Kasaoka Port, take the regular passenger vessel (Sanyo Kisen) and travel 25 minutes (ordinary ship) to Taka-shima Port.
Walk about 15 min. from Taka-shima Port.
