Kasaoka Hyakuen Shotengai Shopping Area

In the shopping area, there are about 70 stores that offer products for ¥100 as a special sales event, including various shops, regional groups, and ordinary stands and vendors. This makes for a very lively and bustling place all day long. The “¥100 Shopping Area” originally started with purpose of resuscitating the economy of the city of Shinjo in Yamagata Prefecture, but has since evolved into Kasaoka’s own version. The event is held about 4 times a year.
